The Lost Boys: The Tribe SUCKS

I’ll be honest with you. I’ve been anxiously waiting to get this movie from Netflix. I didn’t have high hopes for it to live up to the original Lost Boys but I am a sucker for a good vampire movie (no pun intended). My husband and I got the kids off to bed, fixed ourselves a liquid concoction and put the movie on. Within the first five minutes of this movie I hated it.

My husband looked at me (after hearing me swear and gag) and said, “This movie didn’t even have a chance, did it?”

Well, he was wrong. It did have a chance and they totally blew it with this sequel. It was just awful, it wasn’t even a good vampire movie. The acting was horrible, you didn’t care if the main characters won or not, it was extremely predictable AND the vampires were easily killed. (Don’t even get me started about the antlers!) There was no big battle at the end, just a bunch of punching by two actors with stupid looking make-up on. You KNEW who was going to kill the head vampire (I won’t spoil it for you here) but when you watch it, you’ll know! The head vampire did not have any charisma nor did he even look intimidating and he bit the dust like a wimp. This guy didn’t even come close to the presence that Keifer Sutherland had in the first movie. The soundtrack doesn’t hold a candle to the original either. There was no good twist in the plot – at all. There was a small twist at the very end of the movie (and again I won’t spoil it for you if you are planning on watching it) but it’ll make you groan with the thought that they might be planning on making another sequel.

I might have liked it better if they had brought this saxy guy back.

Sigh….what have they done? People are strange indeed.
